Who I Am

I am a political activist (a peaceful one I should add) because I believe in this country that I love and our position as an international leader. If we truly want to create a better world, it must start in America. In believe in less weapons and military power across the whole world. My favorite bumper sticker says something like “It will be a perfect world when our schools have all the money they need and the military has to plan bake sales to buy new weapons”.

One issue I am very passionate about is our relationship with China. I believe we should be alienating China instead of trying to get on their good side. I know President Obama is working hard to build bridges, and I admire and support him a great deal, but I just don't see the good in it. 

America should be condeming China for their suppression of The Dalai Lama and the people of TIbet, their negative affect on the environment, and their involvement in the genocide in Darfur.  We need to manufacture more of our stuff here in the U.S.A instead of relying on China because their approach is quanity instead of quality and that's how all the lead poisoned toys and baby formula happened.

If we must work with another country to support our economy, I say we should work more with Ireland because they are facing the same things we are right now: a bad real estate market, job cuts, you name it. As we bring our economy around and get back on our feet, we should be helping a smaller country in the same situation do the same. Forget America and China hand in hand and start thinking what we can do to help our friends in Ireland.

China needs to be dealt some consequnces for their actions. They built weapons facilities in Sudan to equip the military there to kill over 400,000 people and leave millions more homeless in refugee camps with limited food, clean water, or medical treatment.

But I'm not just all politics and protests.

I'm a bit of a Sci-Fi fan but not a “let's dress up and go to Comic-Con” type of fan. I just like certain books and graphic novels I've read since I was little, especially about anything Batman or Superman or Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files series about Wizard and Private Eye, Harry Dresden. And a lot  of my favorite shows are Sci-Fi themed.
